Casey Andrea Morrison - My fiancé, Terrence, proposed to me on December 14th, 2013. This was the day I graduated from Auburn University. What I thought to be my graduation party with all my friends and family, was actually planned as our surprise engagement party. It was seriously the best day of my life! It was time to open my graduation presents from everyone. It got to the point when I was about to open his present when he decided he wanted to say something in front of everyone. He said a sweet speech on how proud he was of me and how much he loved me, and then he told me to please get up and open his present. He said to just “pull the gift box up that’s sitting on the table.” So I did, and found a cake that had a picture of us on it and “Will you marry me?” on it. As I turned around after reading it, there he was on one knee! Of course I started crying and hugging him as I said yes. It truly was the most magical day ever! We are getting married May 2nd, 2015 at Vulcan Park in Birmingham, Al.
I have followed you on Twitter and Instagram.
Diana Isbell - I feel like the day my fiancé and I became engaged was something out of a fairy tale! He proposed on July 5th (the day after HIS birthday) of this year. The weekend started on Friday July 4th with a family barbeque at my grandparents’ house and ended the evening with his family, watching Thunder on Mountain. It was a wonderful day filled with family, friends and fireworks and celebrating his special day. The next day was another family birthday celebration with his family and my parents joined us as well. It was another wonderful day of family and fun, celebrating the love of my life’s 31st birthday. Around 6 PM we decided to leave his parents and get ready to meet friends for yet another birthday celebration that evening. After getting ready and running a little late to meet our friends, we were on the way. As we cruised down Montclair Road, through a historical area in Birmingham, my fiancé suggested riding by this amazing spot that overlooks Birmingham. Side note: This spot has a special meaning to us because when we first started dating we actually discovered this spot while just hanging out and driving around on an unplanned evening together. I reluctantly agreed because I was told our friends were waiting on us and we were already late. I even commented to him “Are you sure we just told them we were on the way?” So we turn off and proceed to this beautiful spot and my fiancé suggested we get out of the car to really take in the view. At this point I am still clueless because he has done some pretty sweet and super romantic stunts before, so this was not totally out of the ordinary, never would I have thought my life was about to be forever changed! We walk closer to this beautiful grassy area on the hillside and I can see some candles flickering and a white blanket, I turn to him and I say “Babe, I think we are interrupting someone, we don’t need to walk out there!” Of course we just keep walking. He grabs my hand and he begins telling me some of the most wonderful and beautiful things I have ever heard in my entire life!!! After hearing all those wonderful things, he then gets down on one knee and says “Will you be my wife?” pulls out a box with the most gorgeous ring I have EVER laid eyes on!! Of course I say YES (although still totally in shock) and then his sister and one of her best friends pop out of the nearby bushes and we all proceed to squeal and hug! He had arranged for them to be there to capture the proposal in pictures as well as obligatory afterwards pictures! After phone calls to family, we met a few of our close friends at Avondale Brewery to celebrate! We then went on vacation to Destin the following week with several of our friends to continue the celebration! It’s definitely a weekend and a night I will never forget! I couldn’t be happier to marry the man of my dreams on April 11th, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a reception at Pine Tree Country Club.
Thanks so much and keeping my fingers crossed! I have liked you on Facebook, and followed you on both Instagram and Twitter! Please let me know if we need to do anything else!!! Thanks again!
Melanie Hinson - Hello my name is Melanie and my romantically fiancé is Cesar. Cesar had just finished Step 1 of his medical boards and “Meet the Parents” was just around the corner. Now we had already met each other’s, but they had never met each other! We decided it was best to meet halfway in between where we live so Orlando, Florida’s Downtown Disney was the place. Without me even knowing Cesar asked my dad for his blessing to marry me and be his wife on that day. My dad of course gave the green light! The weekend after “Meet the Parents”, we flew to New York City. We had many reasons to celebrate — my birthday had just passed, Cesar had taken his boards, and we were sort of belatingly celebrating his birthday which was a month earlier.
So…after landing we had deicided that our first stop would be the Secret Garden at Riverside Park between West 90th and 91st Street. Our favorite movie is You’ve Got Mail, because we are in a long distance relationship and communicate through Skype, FaceTime and even emails. We wanted to go and visit this park which was the setting of the last scene of the movie where Meg Ryan finds out that Tom Hanks was the man she met online and fell in love with. We walked a few blocks and found the park and the exact spot. Cesar told me “So. I have a letter to read you.” All throughout our dating, he had written letters to me. But this one had a special P.S. at the end. He told me that ONE of the reasons we came to this spot was to pay homage to our favorite movie. He went on to say that he loved me, that I was his best friend, that I made him a better man and follower of Christ. Then he said “P.S. I told you that one of the reasons we came here was to visit this site, I figured it was also a perfect opportunity for reason number TWO.” He put the letter down, got down on one knee (all the while I was saying “Why are you getting down?! What are you doing?! Is this really happening?!”), and asked me to marry my best friend. I said “Yes!” and came down to him since he wasn’t standing up! Haha!
My two best friends Emily and Amy, the previous day, contacted a good friend of mine that lived in NYC to be the “secret photographer.” So we have these amazing photos to help us remember the day that changed our lives forever.
We are getting married June 6, 2015 in Miami, FL. at this beautiful Spanish estate with our closest friends and family.
I’m also following you on Instagram!!
Thanks for reading our Romantically Story
Brittney Whitley - So you already know our story, but for the chance to get to use you at some point since you’re already booked for our wedding I will re-tell the story 🙂 We went down to Destin this year for Memorial Day for what has become our annual summer vacation weekend. We got to the condo late Friday afternoon (slightly before sunset). When we first got in and settled Chet asked if I wanted to go walk on the beach. I was tired from the long drive and told him I’d rather just wait until the next day. A little while later he asked if I wanted to go back out on the balcony and what the sun set. In my head I was thinking “the sun’s behind us…its not like we could see it anyway” but I responded with “Not really, I’d rather just stay in here where its nice and comfy.” So, we watch tv for a while and eventually get ready to go to bed. well, there was a half bath off of the bedroom with the full bath down the hall. I had gone to the bathroom off of the bedroom and when I can out Chet was standing awkwardly outside of the door. I looked up at him and asked why he was was waiting for me instead of just using the other bathroom. At that time he reached behind me and flipped my pillow down where he had the ring/box sitting.
The proposal ended up being perfect and the entire afternoon was truly us…awkward!
I’m already following you on Instagram, and like you on Facebook, and I dont have a Twitter (but if I did I would totally follow you there too).
And I’m still super sad you can’t do the wedding 🙁
Becca Gahan - Hey! I’m following you on Instagram and twitter and I shared this post to Facebook! David and I are getting married December 20, 2014, just a few short months away!
Now for the story 🙂 We went to the beach with another couple over spring break this year, and we left late Friday afternoon after a long, stressful week of class and exams (grad student). We got to the beach the next morning and spent the day relaxing, just what I needed! That night, as we were waiting for dinner at the Sandbar, David asked if I wanted to take a walk on the beach, our friends chimed in and wanted to go with us, so off we went! Let me preface this next part by saying David and I hadn’t talked about marriage or rings or our future together, I just assumed we’d get hitched sometime after PA school because getting married during school would be crazy (that being said, I don’t graduate until December 2015!). When he handed his camera off to our friends, I knew something was up, but still didn’t believe it until he was literally down on one knee asking. He did a phenomenal job surprising me if I do say so myself! I wish I remembered how he asked me or what he said, but the only thing I remember him asking me is if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and me just staring, wide eyed, responding “WHY?!?! Of course I do! What’s going on??” So there it is, my own personal fairy tale including long walks on the beach, some of my closest friends, and a gorgeous princess cut solitaire diamond ring!
Madison Scott - I’m following on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and I have liked and shared this page! We are still undecided on a wedding date, but hopefully we’ll pin point that in the next week! We are looking at a Spring wedding in 2015.
Heath and I have dated for 7 years and he finally proposed to me on Friday, August 15, 2014! Heath had told me that we were going to his aunt’s house on the lake to have a big family dinner. He told to me dress nice because we would be taking pictures with his family. He also told me that we would be taking his Pontoon boat from the marina because parking was limited (which it really is). The marina is only about 5 minutes from there, so that wasn’t a big deal for us to take the boat. He picks me up at my house and I could tell he was a little different, but I didn’t pay any attention. We get on the boat and cruise around for about thirty minutes because we weren’t “eating” until 7:30. We ride towards the dam and as we turn the corner I see candles in the sand, and a big arbor (that he had made) filled with white tulle an lights!! He had soft music playing in the background which was very romantic. He pulled the boat up on the sand and we walked under the arbor and Heath proposed! His two best friends were hidden, and right after the proposal they shot FIREWORKS! We went to his church afterwards, that his mom had decorated, and got to celebrate with family and friends! It couldn’t have been more perfect and I can’t wait to marry my high school sweetheart!!
